“We would like to thank the trustees at Thomas Wade for the kind donation received and enabling us to give the young people of Burley in Leeds an on-going chance to run the Kids- Press and some Drama activities. …Kids Press gives the young people a weekly opportunity to have a look at the various forms of media through Radio, TV, print media, music publication throughout the ages, a time-line showing milestones in broadcasting such as the first radio, TV, inventors, birth of Radio 1, first colour TV, MTV, inventions of videos, satellite TV, MP3, Eye pods, Nanos, mobile phones etc. An in depth look at music through record on 78rpm, LPs, 45s, the introduction of the ‘audio cassettes’ CDs and DVDs. The Drama Club gives them a chance to be more confident, build self-esteem, work together in pairs, groups and help address, understand and respect for all cultures. They mostly promote this through acting and drama.”
